nadir:� The point on the ground vertically beneath the imaging sensor.� That is, if you imagine a straight line drawn from a sensor to the center of the earth, the nadir is point where that line intersects the surface of the Earth.� For radar imaging, the nadir corresponds to the beginning of the near range.
