EGA:Enhanced Graphics Adapter.� An early graphics subsystem capable of 64 colors and widely used in DOS-based microcomputers.� The EGA was developed in 1984 to solve the poor resolution and limited color selections of the CGA. Superceded by VGA, SVGA, 8514/A, and XGA.
