Animated 3D Simulations
created with TNTmips
The 3D Simulation process in TNTmips can show 3D animations on your screen
or create AVI or MPEG files for later viewing. These sample animations were
created by selecting TNT Project File materials and defining the flyby path
with interactive tools.

Description
Natural color imagery draped
over a DEM of Ankara Turkey. The DEM was edited to include building
height information so that each building stands up from the surface in the
3D representation. The flyby path follows a circuit of the main roads of
the city.

Description
The flight follows a four-lane
cross-country highway in Turkey. 3D point symbols appear in 3D
perspective and represent highway signs.

Description
NASA space shuttle image draped
on a USGS Digital Elevation Model. This fly over displays the active 3D
north arrow feature added to 6.1 of the TNT products simulator. The north
arrow adjusts direction according to flight direction.

Description
These flights over the Sierra
Nevada Mountains variously follow the terrain through gorges and over
peaks, orbit Mt Whitney, or pan around looking at the world from its
peak. At the bottom of the first two you can see the plan and profile
view of your path. The drape image uses Landsat TM bands 5, 4, and 3 as
RGB. (Mid IR = Red, Near IR = Green, Red = Blue). Vegetation appears
green, bare soil and rock in nearly natural gray, white, brown and
magenta. Ice is visible as cyan on lakes of black.

Description
This flight orbits the city of
JYVASKYLA in Central Finland created at Soil and Water Ltd. using TNTmips.
Color stereo airphotos taken at 2000 meters and a digital photogrametric
work station were used to generate land surface, building base and heights
and outlines for buildings. These were imported into TNTmips as 3D vector
objects and a raster DEM was produced from them. The original orthophoto
was then draped over the DEM in TNTmips' 3D simulation process. The
results are quite impressive and well worth the download.

Description
This flight approaches and
turns following the San Andreas Fault line. The drape image is an RGBI
combination using Landsat TM bands 5, 4, and 3 as RGB. (Mid IR = Red, Near
IR = Green, Red = Blue) with Intensity being a combination of relief
shaded elevation and the visible intensity from a SPOT satelite image..
Vegetation appears green, bare soil and rock shown in nearly natural gray,
white, brown.

the irregular terrain of the Grand Canyon.

Description
Shows the Juniata River
near Lewistown, central Pennsylvania. The drape image uses Landsat TM
bands 5, 4, and 3 as RGB. (Mid IR = Red, Near IR = Green, Red = Blue).
Vegetation appears green, bare soil and rock in pink and
magenta, most urban features in dark blue to purple, and water as black.
