TNTserver can publish your geodata on the web whether you have only a few hundred gigabytes or many terabytes. TNTserver runs as a Web Map Service (WMS) on your internet host computer, while the free TNTmap runs on each client computer. The TNTserver / TNTmap combination provides public or private geospatial viewing and analysis tools. The easy-to-use TNTmap Builder interface lets each user select geodata layers from any number of WMS sites and view them together for visualization and analysis.

I have now installed TNTserver many times on many different configurations and am really happy with how that has been going. I have even managed to install perfectly smoothly on a machine I had not seen before in front of a potential client - a bold move but I think it will earn us a conversion from a previously loyal ESRI client.

There were two things that were particularly notable from this experience, one was how impressed they were with how easy TNTserver was to set up, and the other was how amazing they found the performance of an atlas containing half a GB of data. I have started to concentrate closely on these aspects in some presentations I have coming up given the strength of the positive reactions. I wouldn't want to install under pressure like that, but I am trying to create a nice canned demo video for my presentations showing things running smoothly.

Features

TNTserver is a Web Map Server that publishes raster, vector, CAD, relational database, and other layers from TNT Project Files and other popular geodata formats. Database materials can be kept in the TNT RDBMS or accessed via ODBC from Access, Oracle, or other products. You can either prepare all your geodata with the TNT products, or use geodata prepared in other products.

TNTserver works with optimized geodata that has been pyramided, tiled, and compressed so that access time is fast for a million individual airphotos, DOQs, or huge map and image mosaics of many gigabytes each.

Your atlas materials can be in a mixture of map projections that are automatically reconciled by TNTserver when they are requested. Projection and coordinate readouts can be selected by the user in TNTmap Viewer.

TNTserver is inexpensive when compared to competing commercial Internet or enterprise map and image servers. Your setup costs are lower since it is easy to start up, update, and maintain. Even though it is multithreaded for use on multi-processor platforms, it can also be used on "server farms" of networked, low-cost individual desktop computers. TNTserver has been optimized to serve up all this geodata rapidly for world-wide access.

The TNTserver product is available only for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista computers. Of course TNTmap Builder and TNTmap Viewer can access the geodata from any WMS, but TNTserver itself runs only on 2000 and XP computers.
