Arsenic Peak, Montana

This Landscape File includes a shaded relief geologic map and multiple geologic cross-sections for the Arsenic Peak 7.5 minute quadrangle, Montana. A scanned image of the printed geologic map was overlaid with partial transparency over a shading image of the topography to create the shaded map. The bedrock geology of the quadrangle includes a number of west-dipping thrust faults that repeat a section of Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary rocks. The simulation includes three cross-sections perpendicular to the structural trend and one parallel to the strike of the thrust faults and sedimentary layering. The default shaded geologic map texture is masked in several places to reveal the intersecting cross-section manifolds. Two other partial textures are included to fill these "holes" in the map to provide a complete map image of the quadrangle.
The Landscape File also has a Startup script that sets the initial viewer position and background color, then exits as soon as any flight control is
activated.
