JPEG2000

in the TNT products

The new JPEG2000 format provides very high levels of compression with very low levels of image degradation. Several Color Plates show JPEG2000 behavior in the TNT products.

Microlmages is pleased to note that Apple and Yahoo have now adopted the same high quality Kakadu development toolkit for the support of JPEG2000. JP2 images produced by the TNT products on Mac, Windows, Linux, or UNIX platforms can be be dropped directly into Apple's Quicktime Pro (Mac only), Preview, or iPhoto for immediate viewing. JP2 files exported by Quicktime Pro can be directly viewed in the TNT products.

Those using the Windows version of Internet Explorer can immediately view the JP2 files produced by the TNT products using a free ActiveX control from LuraTech:

You can examine a gallery of JPEG2000 files created with the TNT products. You can view them in your TNT professional products or with otherJP2-enabled display software.
