Publish Geodata on the Internet           PDF version

Publish Your Maps and Images on the Internet

MicroImages has replaced its separately priced TNTserver product and associated free TNTmap, TNTclient, and other viewers by integrating the creation and use of standardized Internet map and image publishing methods in every TNTmips Pro.

TNTserver and other similar products were designed for viewing geodata using the Internet of 15 years ago, an Internet without defacto standards and broadband access. Today's Internet no longer requires a TNTserver or similar special, complex web services on your web site or a leased site to publish your own map, image, and other geospatial content. You can now do this using features in TNTmips, MicroImages' flagship geospatial analysis product.

Providing very fast Internet access to your materials is now very easy. Using any standard web site, local or remote, owned or rented, is all you need. You can even use the Internet cloud to publish and share your image and map materials. User friendly viewing of your Internet-based material is facilitated by using the familiar Google Maps, Bing Maps, and Google Earth geoviewers and their familiar add-on tools. Or, you can build your own end-user interface using Open Layers, World Wind, MapQuest, or a commercial HTML design library.

Use today's technology to publish your geospatial materials on the Internet.

Try hundreds of examples prepared by
users of TNTmips and published from various web sites.

Use standard geoviewers that are popular and familiar to Internet users: Google Maps, Bing Maps, and Google Earth.

Easily convert your source geospatial materials into Internet standard/popular structures, formats, coordinate reference systems, database tables, …

Publish your spatial materials so they are easily used in new mashups by you or others and in combination with geodata published by others.

When custom or private end user applications are required, build them with Open Layers, MapQuest, World Wind, or a commercial design tool.

No special services, servlets, or other custom services are required on your web site. This is important if it is leased.

What tools are provided by a standard TNTmips Pro.

TNTmips transforms raster-based images and maps into standard web tilesets (JPG and/or PNG tiles) for very fast direct use in all popular geoviewers: Google and Bing Maps, Google Earth, World Wind, and Open Layers.

Geometric source materials (shapefiles, CAD, vectors with topology, and layouts) can be rendered with styling into transparent standard web tilesets (all PNG tiles).

Geometric materials can be converted into KML files.

Any standard web file-based tileset can be converted to table-based tileset for direct Internet access from Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, or MySQL.

Geometric materials (shapefiles, CAD layers, and related) can be transformed into spatial tables for direct access of their features from Oracle Spatial, MS SQL Server, PostGIS, or MySQL.

All file-based or table-based tilesets are created with HTML pages (AJAX client) for immediate launch as a layer in Google and Bing Maps, Google Earth, Open Layers, and in TNTmips.

More complex Internet applications can be created in TNTmips' interactive Geomashup layout process that creates an HTML page (AJAX client) that launches each of the geoviewers noted above. This process creates an HTML file and combines file-based and/or table-based tilesets, KML and other layers into a geomashup. You can add gadgets for geo-lookup, zoom-box, and other view controls. Add tools to draw points, lines, and polygons and save them as KML files or in Google Fusion tables.

Use minimum effort to get your geodata onto the Internet.

When you publish geospatial materials you do not want to spend your time manipulating your source material's file format, many separate pieces, coordinate reference systems, cell sizes, and related conditions. TNTmips will directly convert your various source materials into tilesets, tables, files, mashups, … that can be used by all the popular geoviewers. You can choose to locate all or part of these materials on your web site, on a leased site, or in cloud service for public or private access.

MicroImages will support TNTserver V74 and related free products such as and TNTmap and other related components to the extent possible. The final release of TNTserver can be downloaded here:
