Other WMS Clients
A Sampling of Web Map Server (WMS) Clients From Other Sources
TNTserver is one of a growing number of Web
Map Services that provide geodata to WMS clients across the web.
TNTserver is carefully engineered to conform to the protocols of the WMS
standard defined in the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) specifications 1.3.0 and 1.1.0. TNTmap can combine map layers from many WMS
sources. However, as
with any new technology that depends on sharing protocols, an uneven
implementation of features can be expected among servers and clients.
A particular WMS server might be temporarily offline
- You may have problems with a map client
that does not correctly access and display layers from a WMS host.
It might not be able to handle map layers from multiple hosts or in
different coordinate reference systems.
- You may have problems with a WMS source
that does not correctly respond to requests from your map client.
It could be offline, unable to handle heavy demand, or it might not be
able to understand the map client's request.
If
TNTmap doesn't retrieve a map layer correctly from some WMS site, first see if you can get correct results by using one of the
other clients listed below. If you get correct
results there, then please share the details of your tests with us so that
we can make the TNT products the most dependable and robust on the web.
Try TNTmap. If you observe problems with
TNTmap, try loading the
same layers with some other WMS client.
